HOLOPLOT Experience Event Successfully Held in Beijing


From August 21 to 22, HOLOPLOT coordinated with PCI Group, successfully held the HOLOPLOT Experience Event in Beijing. This marked HOLOPLOT’s debut in China, showcasing not only its innovative products but also allowing the audience to experience the “magic” of HOLOPLOT’s precise sound control through rich demonstration sessions.

The event featured six experience sessions, attracting nearly 500 enthusiastic participants from various industries. Among the attendees were experts and representatives from renowned enterprises and academic institutions such as CCTV, Central Academy of Drama, Beijing Film Academy, Communication University of China, and Radio, Film & TV Design and Research Institute. The event also drew many well-known domestic and international peers. After an in-depth experience, the audience expressed that HOLOPLOT not only made the application and scenarios of sound more flexible but also opened up new possibilities for sound design, breaking the limitations of environmental factors on sound performance and allowing creativity to flourish without constraints.
 


Challenging Acoustic Environment

The experience event was held in a space measuring 30 meters long, 20 meters wide, and 11 meters high, with cement walls and floors and minimal sound absorption treatment, resulting in a reverberation time of 3.5 seconds. This challenging environment was an excellent venue to demonstrate the capabilities of HOLOPLOT’s audio technology. Senior Application Engineer from HOLOPLOT’s German headquarters, Mr. Jack Human, and PCI’s Technical Director, Mr. Martin Wang, jointly presented an impressive demonstration.


Science-based, Software-driven, and Hardware-enabled

The experts introduced HOLOPLOT’s flagship product, the X1 Matrix Array (comprising MD96 and MD80-S), and the X2 Matrix Array designed for speech applications. They also shared the case of the globally renowned project, the Sphere in Las Vegas. HOLOPLOT aims to achieve three major goals in the audio field through precise hardware design and innovative software algorithms: precise sound control, high intelligence of sound, and excellent sound quality.

HOLOPLOT achieves unprecedented precise sound control through 3D Beamforming and Wave Field Synthesis technologies. With HOLOPLOT Plan and HOLOPLOT Control software, users can easily design and manage complex audio environments, achieving highly intelligent sound management and control.

In terms of sound quality, HOLOPLOT strives for excellence, delivering outstanding performance in clarity, timbre, detail, and sound pressure level for music, movies, and speech materials, aiming to provide the best auditory experience for listeners.


Unforgettable Demonstration Experience

During the highly anticipated demonstration session, the audience witnessed the powerful capabilities of HOLOPLOT technology. Using only a central X1 Matrix Array, multiple impressive demonstrations were achieved.

Uniform Sound Coverage in the Audience Area:

Unlike conventional speakers where sound pressure decreases with distance, HOLOPLOT achieved very uniform sound coverage over a 20-meter area, ensuring that every seat in future venues enjoys the same sound quality.

Precise Zonal Sound Reinforcement:

 

Three zones were marked on-site, and HOLOPLOT used a central array to project different content to each zone simultaneously without interference, with only a 1-meter gap between zones. This concept was also demonstrated in a simultaneous interpretation scenario, where Mr. Jack Human and Mr. Martin Wang gave speeches in English and Chinese in two zones simultaneously, providing an unprecedented solution for multilingual simultaneous interpretation, eliminating the need for headphones. Notably, even with the speakers wearing omnidirectional headsets standing in front of the speakers, there was no feedback, offering more possibilities for future stage performances and design.

 

5.1 and 7.1 Immersive Sound Experience:

HOLOPLOT can create multiple virtual sound sources through Wave Field Synthesis technology. Using only a central array, virtual left/center/right channels were created, and four reflection panels in the middle and rear of the venue were used to create side and rear surround channels through sound reflection, presenting 5.1 and 7.1 immersive sound effects. This technology also demonstrated the ability to focus sound on specific locations, such as a line only 50cm wide or even smaller points, showcasing its precise sound localization capabilities.

Full-Space Stereo Coverage:

Finally, HOLOPLOT demonstrated its stereo effect during music playback using two X1 arrays placed on both sides of the front. The rich, detailed, and dynamic sound quality, along with extremely consistent and uniform sound coverage, was further proven, ensuring that the audience could hear uniform and complete stereo effects no matter where they moved.

All attendees gave high praise after experiencing HOLOPLOT’s impressive demonstrations, expressing their amazement and engaging in enthusiastic discussions about the details and applications of HOLOPLOT technology in concerts, theaters, conferences, exhibitions, virtual reality, and augmented reality. Undoubtedly, this revolutionary innovation in the audio field will not only significantly enhance the experience of existing audio systems in some scenarios but also open up a new world for sound creators, providing possibilities for unprecedented sound creations.
